Range walks, ridge drives, village mornings.

The Blackall Range sits at the door, the Glass House Mountains rise on the plain below, and the coast is half an hour east. Trails start at the property line.

Kondalilla Falls and the Obi Obi Gorge.

Just down Narrows Road, the Baroon Pocket to Kondalilla Falls Great Walk begins. Follow Obi Obi Gorge through piccabeen palms to the water hole below the falls. The lower-pool circuit loops back in about an hour; the full Great Walk is a day on the boots.

Trails within reach.

A web of national-park tracks runs along the range. Pick a short loop for a morning or the Great Walk for the full day. Mapleton Falls and the Wompoo Circuit add a second waterfall to the list, half an hour north.

Range Road

Villages and ridge views.

Drive the ridge to Maleny, Flaxton and Mapleton, each a short hop along the range. Push further to Kenilworth for the dairy country, or loop down through Pomona and Yandina on a longer day. The Glass House Mountains rise to the south, lookouts every few kilometres.

Birds come along and sit on the balcony rail in the morning and you can hand feed them. The cabins are about 4km out of Montville and it's an easy drive that's well worth it.
