# October near Montville in 2027: Blackall100 and time on the range

October 2026 gave the Blackall Range two quite different outings: small performances through Rangebow and a big trail-running day at Blackall100. **Rangebow's 9 to 18 October festival and Blackall100 on 17 October 2026 have now finished.** Music, conversations and finish-line moments made a good spring chapter on the range.

The next race is already confirmed. [Run Queensland lists **Blackall100 for Saturday 16 October 2027**](https://www.runqld.com.au/blackall-100) in Mapleton. A cabin stay can give runners and supporters a quiet place around that fixed date, without requiring every other hour of the weekend to be planned.

## Blackall100, 16 October 2027

The organiser lists **100 km, 50 km and 21 km** distances, starting and finishing at **QCCC, 70 Obi Obi Road, Mapleton**. The routes use the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk, with a race hub that brings runners, crews and supporters together.

Choose the distance through the organiser and read its current race documents before making travel arrangements. Entry prices are still marked to be confirmed. Mandatory gear, course guidance, cut-offs and the schedule belong with Run Queensland, so check those details again near the race rather than relying on last year's plan.

Supporters need their own arrangements too. Check which checkpoints they can reach, where parking is allowed and how to meet the runner afterwards. Run Queensland currently directs event parking to Mapleton Community Hall, with no parking on QCCC grounds. Recheck that instruction with the final 2027 guide.

## Rangebow: a look back while the next dates wait

The [Rangebow programme](https://therangebowfestival.org/events/) still describes the completed **2026** edition. It included **Sunrise Celtic Chorus on Jinibara** at Flaxton Gardens, **Beyond Words** at St Mary's Church in Montville and **Chapel of Love: Baroque Botanica** at Montvale's glass chapel.

Those small performances offered a lovely counterpoint to the race weekend. An early chorus or a concert evening could be the only outing in a day otherwise spent at the cabin. They are memories of 2026, rather than bookable plans for another year.

No 2027 Rangebow dates or programme are confirmed here. Wait for a new organiser announcement before choosing a stay around it. The old performance times and ticket-pricing arrangements should stay with that finished festival.

## Make the cabin part of the race plan

A runner may want an early night and a straightforward breakfast; a supporter may want somewhere calm between trips to Mapleton. Each cabin has its own kitchen, private balcony or patio and spa bath. Continental breakfast supplies are stocked for the stay.

Fresh croissants arrive at 8 am, so an early race departure needs breakfast sorted beforehand. Ask Karen and Michael about any arrival arrangements you need, then keep race transport and sign-in plans with the organiser's schedule.

Firewood is supplied from April through September. In October, reverse-cycle heating is there if the evening turns cool. Paid BBQ packs and hot dinner hampers can be ordered at least 24 hours ahead, leaving dinner at the cabin after a full day out.

## Keep a morning for Montville

Once Blackall100's **16 October 2027** date is in the diary, leave room either side to settle in. A slow breakfast, a walk around the grounds or a short drive into Montville can give the weekend a quieter finish.
