# Coming to a Wedding in Montville, Maleny or Flaxton? Make a Little More of It

There's something about a wedding that brings everyone together. Family members you haven't seen for a while, old friends with years of stories to catch up on, and sometimes three generations of one family all travelling to celebrate the same occasion.

And when that wedding is in Montville, Maleny or Flaxton, it's a good excuse to spend a little more time in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Why make the trip just for the ceremony and head straight home afterwards when you could enjoy an extra day, or even a few?

At Montville Country Cabins, Michael and I welcome guests coming to weddings throughout the hinterland. Some stay for one night, others for two or three. It might be a midweek wedding or a weekend celebration, with family and friends arriving from Brisbane, the Gold Coast, interstate or further afield.

And when the celebrations are over, you've got your own cabin to come back to.

## Together for the wedding, with space of your own

Our ten timber cabins are set apart across sixteen acres of rainforest, gardens and a spring-fed lake. Seven are designed for couples, while our three larger family cabins suit those travelling with children or wanting a little more room.

I think that's one of the nice things about staying here when several relatives or friends are attending the same wedding. You can meet up and enjoy the occasion together, then go back to your own cabin when you're ready.

Each cabin has kitchen facilities, a spa bath and its own veranda. After a day of getting dressed up, photographs, speeches and dancing, taking off those wedding shoes, pouring yourself a glass of something nice and putting your feet up on the veranda sounds rather appealing, doesn't it?

If you're travelling with others, have a look at [our couples and family cabins](https://www.montvillecountrycabins.com.au/accommodation/). Or give us a call and we'll talk through what's available for your dates.

## The wedding is one evening. What about the others?

If you're staying the night before or after the wedding, there's time to enjoy the hinterland without having to organise a full itinerary.

You might meet a few relatives for dinner at Montville Bar & Grill one evening. We can help you check transfer options in advance, so you can enjoy the evening without having to worry about driving home.

Or stay in and enjoy one of our optional BBQ hampers or Hot Dinner Hampers, delivered to your cabin. Sometimes a quiet meal and a chance to catch up properly are just what everyone feels like after a busy day.

For couples who want to spend a little longer in the hinterland, our [Four Nights All-In package](https://www.montvillecountrycabins.com.au/specials/) may also suit. It currently includes cabin dining and a meal at Montville Bar & Grill with transfers as part of the package; it's worth looking at the details if you have the time.

## One night, two nights – or time for a third?

Not everyone can take extra days away, of course. Some guests are fitting a wedding around work or school commitments, and a one-night stay is exactly what they need. Others decide to arrive early, spend the wedding day celebrating and leave themselves a day to enjoy Montville afterwards.

If three nights would suit, have a look at our [Stay 3, Pay 2 offer and current specials](https://www.montvillecountrycabins.com.au/specials/) to see whether your dates are included. Packages and availability change, so the Specials page is the best place to check what's on offer when you're planning your trip.

## And then there are our mornings

I think one of the pleasures of staying at Montville Country Cabins is waking up here. The birds have usually started their conversations long before anyone else, and some mornings there's a little mist drifting through the gardens towards the lake.

Your continental breakfast hamper is already in your cabin, and each morning Michael makes his rounds delivering warm, freshly baked croissants to the door. It's a simple touch of genuine country hospitality, and one that guests often tell us they remember long after their stay.

Make yourself a coffee, take breakfast onto the veranda and talk about the wedding. No need to hurry off looking for somewhere to eat. If you're staying another day, you can decide what to do over that second cup.

## A little time to discover Montville

Montville Village is only a short drive away. Browse the galleries and little shops, enjoy a long lunch or head over to Maleny for a look around. If walking is more your thing, the rainforest trails and waterfalls nearby are well worth exploring.

Then again, you may be perfectly happy staying close to your cabin, wandering through the gardens and spending an afternoon doing very little. We've met quite a few guests who arrive with a busy list of plans and decide, once they're here, that most of it can wait. I understand that completely.

## A few practical things worth knowing

Wedding venues are spread across Montville, Maleny, Flaxton and the surrounding countryside, so do check the exact location and allow enough time to get there. If you'll be having a drink at the reception, it's sensible to arrange your return journey in advance or ask the couple whether they've organised a guest shuttle.

Our cabins are a peaceful place to stay, and we have sound restrictions to protect that atmosphere for everyone. They're suited to wedding guests returning to unwind after the celebration, rather than parties or late-night gatherings.

## And if you are the bride and groom ...

You might be looking for somewhere private to enjoy a couple of days together once the celebrations are over. We'd be delighted to welcome you, too.

Our [Mini-Moon Escape](https://www.montvillecountrycabins.com.au/specials/) is a two-night couples package with a few thoughtful extras, including bubbles or wine and a dinner hamper. Or, if you have longer, you may prefer to look at our [Four Nights All-In package](https://www.montvillecountrycabins.com.au/specials/) and take your time exploring the hinterland together.

## Coming to the same wedding? Give us a call

If several family members or friends are coming to the same wedding, let us know the dates and how many people are travelling. We'll help you explore the couples and family cabins available, while everyone still has their own space.

Wedding weekends can be popular, so it's worth getting accommodation organised once you know the date. Whether you're coming for one night or making a few days of it, we'd love to welcome you.

Sometimes the wedding invitation turns into a little holiday of your own.
