The continental breakfast hamper is included in every stay. BBQ packs and hot dinner hampers, both cooked by Michael, are paid extras delivered to the cabin door. There’s a small mini-bar in each cabin too, paid as taken.
The cabins have stovetops, microwaves and hooded BBQs, but no oven. Montville Village is a five-minute drive for dinner out, but most evenings the easier move is to fire up the BBQ on your balcony or have something hot delivered to the door. The point of the place is to slow down, and cooking-in keeps you there.
Breakfast hamper (included)
Stocked in the cabin when you check in and refreshed across the stay:
- Cereals
- Maleny yoghurt
- Juice and milk
- Local Maleny bread, butter and jams
- Seasonal fruit
- Hot croissants delivered to the door at 8 am every morning
Dietary requirements catered for; mention them when you book.
For an extra $20 for two, the hamper upgrades to a hot option: bacon, eggs, sausages and mushrooms. Worth it on a slow morning before a long walk into the rainforest.
The croissants
Michael walks the property at 8 am with the croissants, dropping them at every cabin door. It’s the detail guests mention most often in reviews. Some sit on the balcony with them and a coffee straight away; others let them cool while they head outside to listen to the kookaburras. Either works.
BBQ hampers ($95)
Designed for the hooded BBQ on your cabin balcony. One hamper feeds two. Sides and dessert come with every option.
Choice of main:
- Beef eye fillet with sausages
- Rib fillet with sausages
- Lamb cutlets with sausages
- Atlantic salmon fillets
- Vegetarian skewers
Sides and dessert with every BBQ hamper:
- Green salad with house dressing
- Oven-baked potatoes with sour cream
- Hot garlic bread
- Maleny & Co gelato
The hamper arrives ready to cook, with everything you need on the BBQ deck.
Hot dinner hampers ($95)
For nights when you don’t want to cook at all. Cooked by Michael, delivered hot to the cabin. Two options:
- Beef bourguignon
- Mediterranean-style chicken
Both come with green salad and house dressing, rice, hot garlic bread, and Maleny & Co gelato for dessert.
What’s local
Maleny is one ridge across from Montville, with dairy farms and bakeries. The bread in the hamper, the yoghurt and the gelato all come from there. The local sourcing is geography, nothing more.
In-cabin mini-bar
A small mini-bar in each cabin carries sparkling, red and white wines, paid as taken. Useful for a quiet evening after a drive up from the coast.
