The 2026 Maleny Garden Club Spring Fair has finished. A day of plants, local stalls and open gardens made a lovely spring outing on the range. The Garden Club has announced the next fair for Saturday 2 October 2027, with a garden market at Maleny Showgrounds and private open gardens around Maleny.
The club lists the Garden Market from 8 am to 3 pm and open gardens from 9.30 am to 4 pm. Those separate windows leave room to make the market a morning stop, then choose how much of the afternoon to spend looking through gardens.
Begin with the market
The club’s fair page describes plants from local gardens and Queensland nurseries, along with pottery, tools, garden decor and other stalls. Food and refreshments are part of the day too, useful when a quick look at the plants turns into a longer conversation.
Take a bag for smaller purchases and leave space in the car for anything going home. A fair can be just as satisfying for ideas as for plants: a different way to group pots, a useful question answered, or a detail to try in the garden later.
The organiser lists free on-site parking, indoor and outdoor stalls and wheelchair-friendly access. Check its current page before travelling for the final stall information and any updated visitor guidance.
Give the gardens their own time
Open gardens are the second part of the fair. Read the club’s 2027 garden list and entry information when arranging the day, especially if one particular garden is the reason for your visit. Admission arrangements and access can differ from the market.
A short list works better than trying to reach every gate. Leave time between gardens, allow for a meal and keep the drive back to Montville unhurried. Two people rarely notice the same things in a garden, so a stop afterwards gives you time to compare what caught your eye.
The club still links to highlights of the completed 2026 fair. Those are a pleasant look back, while the next garden list and any ticket details need their own check for 2027.
A cabin evening after a day outside
Maleny and Montville are neighbouring villages on the Blackall Range. The fair can be the main outing of a cabin weekend, with the rest left open. See the Maleny–Mapleton loop if you want another village drive on a different day.
Back at Montville Country Cabins, a private balcony or patio, spa bath and kitchen make it easy to stop going places. The cabins are standalone, set across sixteen acres of rainforest and gardens beside Kondalilla National Park. A walk around the grounds can be enough for the afternoon after the fair.
Each cabin has a hooded BBQ. Karen and Michael can also arrange a paid BBQ pack or hot dinner hamper when ordered at least 24 hours ahead. Breakfast supplies are stocked for the stay, and fresh croissants arrive at the door at 8 am.
Put 2 October 2027 in the diary
Start with the confirmed Saturday, then check the Garden Club’s official fair information for the details needed to plan the outing. Leave a little cabin time around it, so the weekend has room for both the gardens and a slow morning of your own.
