The Maleny Garden Club Spring Fair is on Saturday 3 October 2026. It is one of the Blackall Range’s more relaxed annual days out: a garden market at the Maleny Showgrounds Pavilion, followed by a set of private open gardens around Maleny.
The two parts have separate entry arrangements. The market runs from 8 am to 3 pm; the open gardens run from 9:30 am to 4 pm. That makes it easy to use the fair as a morning stop or give it most of the day, depending on how much time you want away from the cabin.
Start at the Garden Market
The Garden Market brings together local gardeners, Queensland nurseries and garden-focused stalls. The club lists plants, pottery, tools, garden decor, food, local produce and baked goods among the day’s offerings. Stalls sit indoors and outside at the pavilion, with wheelchair-friendly access and free on-site parking.
Take a bag for smaller purchases and check the club’s page close to the date for the final stall list and open-garden details. Plants need careful transport, so a garden fair is often more satisfying as a chance to gather ideas, ask questions and take home one or two things rather than a boot full of pots.
Choose the open gardens that suit the day
The private gardens open after the market begins and stay open later in the afternoon. The event is designed for visitors to see several gardens in one day, but there is no prize for seeing every gate. Pick a short list, allow time for the roads between them, and leave space for lunch or an unplanned stop in Maleny.
The full open-garden programme and entry information belong with the club, not a post written weeks before the fair. Check those details before you leave the cabin, especially if a particular garden is the reason for your visit.
Keep the rest of the weekend slow
Maleny and Montville are neighbouring Blackall Range villages, so the fair fits easily beside a cabin stay rather than taking it over. After a garden morning, return to Montville for an afternoon on the balcony, a spa bath or a walk around the property grounds. See the Maleny–Mapleton loop if you want to add another village stop on a different day.
The cabins have a hooded BBQ, and Karen and Michael can prepare a BBQ pack or hot dinner hamper when ordered at least 24 hours ahead. That is useful after a day on your feet: the evening can stay at the cabin instead of becoming another drive.
For a Spring Fair weekend, reserve the event details through the Garden Club, then choose the cabin time you want around it. The gardens are the outing. The rest of the weekend can stay unplanned.
