Five couples cottages and a studio cabin, set on 16 acres of rainforest with 50 to 100 metres between cabins. The property is built for couples first: hands-on hosts, no shared walls or verandahs, spa bath and wood fireplace in every cabin, and the standard run of inclusions (croissants delivered to the door each morning, breakfast hamper stocked for the stay, chocolates and port on arrival).

## In the cabin
A typical anniversary or honeymoon stay anchors on the cabin itself. King-size spa bath looking out into the rainforest. Wood fireplace pre-laid with firewood (April through September). Hooded BBQ on the private balcony, hot dinner hamper from Michael if you don't feel like cooking, mini-bar with sparkling, red and white wines paid as taken.
In-cabin massage is available on request, single or couples. Bookable through reception when you arrive.
## Dining around the village
A short list of the rooms in the area worth booking ahead:
**The Long Apron**: one of Montville's best-known dining rooms, at Spicers Clovelly Estate. Tasting menu and à la carte. Bookings essential.
**Fiorio & Co**: French cooking on Main Street, Shop 3/182.
**Flame Hill Vineyard**: same road as the cabins (Western Avenue), with a cellar door and deck restaurant open later in the week, lunch from 11:30 am (check current days and hours). The view across the Sunshine Coast is the draw.
**Secrets on the Lake**: Dining on the Deck restaurant on the shores of Lake Baroon, a short drive from the cabins. Treat it as a lunch, afternoon tea or high tea stop, then walk through the rainforest gardens after lunch.
The Long Apron and Flame Hill book out a week or two ahead on weekends; less notice midweek.
## Walks and scenic spots
The Kondalilla Falls walks start at the property fence. Picnic Creek Circuit is the easy 1.7 km loop through subtropical rainforest; Kondalilla Falls Circuit is the 4.7 km descent with the falls lookout at the end. Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve in Maleny is the rainforest option if you want something gentler, with a café at the entrance. Lake Baroon takes canoes and small sailing craft, has free BBQ areas, and a shoreline that suits a slow afternoon.
## What makes it work
Many places offer dinner reservations and rainforest walks. What sets the cabins apart is the spacing. They sit 50 to 100 metres from each other across the property, so you forget anyone else is on the same site. The croissant delivery in the morning is one knock and gone. The fireplace is ready when you arrive. You don't see another guest unless you walk down to the lake.
